The Indiana University Science and Engineering Laboratory is one of the few non-medical buildings on the Indianapolis campus. Located along the Science Corridor on Blackford Street between New York and Michigan Streets, this project is the home for biology, chemistry, and psychology research.
The 80,000 square foot building also contains teaching labs and a new animal facility and vivarium, which is used by Biomedical Engineering, Psychobiology, and Renewable Energy Research programs. The structure earned a Monumental Award from the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce.
The design and construction of this facility ensures that it is capable of achieving certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System for New Construction (LEED-NC).
